Eric...

Thoughts on Nonis against the cap with Kadri & Franson still unsigned?

I don't like this idea of building our team around a player that simply isn't the best at his job but cannot take another role so we're stuck playing him with our better wingers and leaving Eller on the third line in a more defensive role.

What's the debate, exactly? Guy who's good vs. guy who speaks French?

Eller.

Now if DD spent more time on his skates, rather than his ass.... Maybe it would be close

well, it might very well be Bourque-Plekanec-Gionta and Galchenyuk-Eller-Briere.

I would replace one with Bourque or Pacioretty...Likely Gionta...

Bourque - Plek - Briere
Galchenyuk - Eller - Gallagher
Pacioretty - Desharnais - Gionta

Prust - White - Parros/Moen/Dumont

Prust can step up if Bourque or Pacioretty don't play physical...I think our best line will be the Eller line...if he continues to play like he did at the end of last year.

lots of depth in the top 9. habs will be in good shape for offense all year long, even with 2 or so injuries. I do like pleky, gionta, bourque for shutdown line. Briere's defensive skills are not the best, where he fits in the top 9 is most concerning to me. my opinion we didn't need him, but you never know, being in a habs uni and playing for the fans might give him that boost. desharnais will be a focus, eller will be fine. Can the season start tomorrow?

What if the habs created a pair of pants that have blades on his ass, this way when he gets knocked down he can keep on slowing gliding down the ice.

I don't know...I'd want to see Gallagher and Galchenyuk working together...even if Galchenyuk isn't at Centre yet...I want to see those guys become on top line fixtures for years to come...so let them learn and grow together...

don't think you can put gionta with dd and pacs...but you got the 4th line right. Briere is not a shutdown guy, hes terrible in his own end, gionta is better served with those minutes

Well Pacioretty-Desharnais-Briere would be a train wreck...and you can't shield them all the time...that's why I'd put Gionta there to act as the sole individual who actually plays a bit of D...so I went with balance on each line...
